The Merta Family!

June 24th, 2010 | Posted in Edmonton, Families | 3 Comments »

Oh I am excited about this blog!  It is going to be bigger and better than ever!  Not only is it featuring images that I took during this family session – but it is going to also have images that they took of me during this shoot!  Crazy! – but I love it!

When I photographed Ruth & Derek’s engagement pictures in St. Albert, I knew that I needed to come back to that spot and photograph my uncle & aunt and cousins.  They live in St. Albert and with a lot of our family heritage taking place on the farm…the elevator was a must!  The trestle I absolutely love with the dark rich colors and the assortment of textures.

You have heard me say before about how much I love family and it is so very true.  Having the opportunity to photograph members of my family is absolutely amazing and such a gift.  I am so thankful for them and will take any reason to spend time with them!

As I was editing this shoot there were times when I laughed out loud at different images and expressions – and also times where I was reflective and feeling so very blessed by this family and my family in general. (tears are filling my eyes as I write this).   I thought about the pictures that we have done over the years and how much my cousins have grown and the incredible people they are with hearts that I am so very proud of.  I thought about the many movie & latte nights – that I know several of you have heard me talk about – and how I spent the majority of my Friday nights for a few years with this amazing family.  Oh how they have poured into me, encouraged me and blessed me.

And lastly, I tried not to think about the distance that seperates us and how much I miss each one of them.

Love you guys so so much!

Chris

And just because we like to have fun…..   : )

Family Session : Charlene & Brad

June 21st, 2010 | Posted in Families, Fort McMurray | 5 Comments »

Charlene & Brad ..along with their super cute son, Caleb, are one of my newest favorite Fort McMurray families!

Caleb has the most amazing blue eyes ever!  He loves Thomas the Train and we had a few of his trains with us the day that we did this shoot.

They were so fun to work with and I have loved getting to know them a bit.  I’m looking forward to hopefully getting to know them more in the future : )

I’m feeling rather short on words right now….so I will just post some of my favorites!

You guys are fantastic!

Business Feature : Bev Boman and Cindy Scantland (Royal LePage)

June 18th, 2010 | Posted in Business Feature, Fort McMurray | No Comments »

I had the privilege of meeting and working with Bev Boman and Cindy Scantland from Royal LePage True North Realty.

These two wonderful women are realtors here in Fort McMurray…and they are also mother and daughter!

We had a great time doing this shoot in Cindy’s beautiful home !  Two of the images from this session will be featured in their ad on the back cover of the new CanPages book and one will be used for an upcoming newspaper ad.

Wishing you both all the best!

Christine

6 month old : Ryder!

Talk about a cutie!  This little guy has some serious style!  My gues is that it is because his mom has fabulous style – I love it!

They live in an absolutely beautiful home and Ryder has 3 older brothers and a dog that he loves.

How fun it was to go and spend time with him and take pictures!  He did an awesome job (as did mom and dad!) - especially as he was working on a new tooth at the same time.

Here are a few of my favorites…..

The Solbak Family

June 14th, 2010 | Posted in Families, Fort McMurray | No Comments »

One of my all time favorite things is family….now perhaps I am biased, as I love spending time with my grandparents, parents, siblings, uncles, aunts and cousins.  However, I think that there is something special and simply wonderful when EVERYONE gets together for a family picture.  It is such a gift when you see all of the generations together and interacting. Extended family sessions are a LOT of work for the person (or people) coordinating it with the various schedules, wardrobes and other needs….however it is so worth it in the end!  These pictures are not just keepsakes, but they are heirlooms.  Something that will be treasured for years to come.  They capture a moment in time that can not be revisited or repeated – and that is so special.

I had the wonderful privilege of spending time with the Solbak family one afternoon here in Fort McMurray.  Everyone was there… from grandma & grandpa and all the way down to the youngest of grandkids.  This group was great to work with and unfortunately our session was cut short by a spontaneous rain shower.  One of the families stayed to continue to play in the rain and I am so thankful.  There were so many other ideas that I wanted to do….however I’m glad that we were able to get the images that we did.

Here are just a few of my favorites from that day…
